In Memoriam Barbara Feather, Dedicated Volunteer

Barbara Feather

Long-time Auxiliary member Barbara Feather died on Tuesday, October 15 in Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville Hospital after suffering two strokes. She was 79 years old.

Barbara joined the Auxiliary because the fire company responded to a fire call at her residence in Charlestown Hunt. She wanted to “give back” to the organization that helped her. A few years later she recruited her sister Dottie and brother-in-law Rich Regetta to also start volunteering with the Auxiliary.

Barbara will most be remembered for her work with the donuts both for the Auxiliary monthly sales and during the Kimberton Fair. She managed orders, answered phone calls, and helped assign the volunteers as they arrived for their shifts. She would arrive well before sunrise on donut days to prepare for the 6 am customer pick-ups. She enjoyed working with the other volunteers behind the scenes on scheduling donut volunteers and updating the online ordering website. Barbara went above and beyond to make sure every customer received their correct order. She was also diligent in keeping track of the cash receipts, bank deposits and quantity of donuts sold each month. Her last time with us was during the September donut sale when she worked the Monday night shift. True to form, she promptly emailed out the sale report on Tuesday afternoon.

Barbara was an active member who regularly attended the monthly Auxiliary meetings and helped with events that the Auxiliary catered such as banquets, receptions and luncheons. She was also a loyal helper with the competitive entry check-in days for the Fair.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Barbara’s name to Kimberton Fire Company. It is an honor to know that she thought so much of our organization.

Services will be held on Friday, October 25 at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Phoenixville.
Memorial service is at 11:30 am with a visitation from 10 am – 11:30 am.

***LUNCHEON VOLUNTEERS NEEDED***
Unfortunately the Covered Bridge Room rental schedule does not permit us to host Barbara’s funeral luncheon at the firehouse. Arrangements have been made for the luncheon to be held at First United Methodist Church on Main Street, Phoenixville.

We will need volunteers to assist with managing the catered food and also to bake desserts. Please let me know if you can help.
